Fernbank Drive, Foundation Stone Event With The Abbeyfield Society

The Fernbank project marked a key milestone recently with the laying of the foundation stone within the building.

The event was attended by a number of the Bardsley and Abbeyfield Society teams who shared a common understanding of the project complexities and its challenging site logistics.

It provided an opportunity for all parties to celebrate the hard work invested in the project from inception and concept which was outlined by both Shannon Houliston (Abbeyfield Ilkley) and Keith Brewster (Brewsterbye Architects) through the challenging planning process and then the tender procurement stage managed by Andrew Gaunt of (Bernard William Associates) and then onto the construction stage which as Roly Bardsley explained the project is in the capable hands of the build team of Sean Kempley Contracts Manager, Senior Project Manager John North, Paul Rowland Senior Quantity Surveyor and Sam Godfrey Engineer.

A selection of photographs from the event show the foundation stone dedicated in the memory of the Abbeyfield Society founder Richard Carr-Gomm being presented by Ian Plaistowe (Abbeyfield Chairman), Natasha Singarayer (Abbeyfield Chief Executive), Shannon Houlistan (Abbeyfield,Ilkley) and Roly Bardsley.
