A delighted John Howard, Director of Estate at Wakefield College, congratulates our Senior Project Manager David Watts on a highly successful project delivered on programme for the College.

The project brief was to revamp the exterior of the 1960’s concrete frame building, which we did through a combination of insulated render, trespa cladding and glazing. The new mix of materials designed with Architects IBI Taylor Young replaced the tired and dated looking facade of the five-storey Radcliffe Building at the College’s city centre campus. The project also included the construction of a roof-top extension to form a new science block. The College were so impressed with our works on site that they instructed us to undertake two floor plate refurbishments to level 3 and floor 4 just to keep David and the team on their toes.

Delivery of the scheme was not only a challenge for Bardsley but also the College, to relocate 75 classrooms, over 2000 students and 150 member of staff proved challenging but with the Bardsley team on site to help programme, plan and assist the College, the project went like a dream.
