Greenbuild Awards 2013 Finalist - University Of Bradford

The £1.5 million refurbishment project of the JB Priestley Building has been shortlisted for Education Retrofit category of the 2013 Greenbuild Awards.

The project was jointly funded by HEFCE (Higher Education Funding Council for England) and the University and sought to enhance not only the learning environment itself but also our users’ understanding of the green impact of building design and function and, importantly, what green impact the individual user of the space can make.

The year long refurbishment undertaken by Bardsley involved sinking new lightwells through the building and new windows brought welcome light into the core of the building and improved ventilation and insulation helped raise the building’s energy performance from a level E to level A.

Winners will be announced ay an awards ceremony on 8 May in Manchester.
