Edge Hill University chooses Bardsley for new facility centre.
Work has begun on the £3.5m two storey steel framed building (approx 1743m²), which will form a new Facilities Management central area. The design will have minimal heating and cooling demands, using low embodied energy, renewable sources and passive ventilation. The building will also house a new IT infrastructure for the existing and future campus as it develops in the coming years. Work began on site December 09. Edge Hill University has been delivering higher education for 123 years, since it became the first non-denominational teacher training college for women in 1885. The University has a student population of almost 20,000 and employs 2,000 staff.
