Bardsley team swim Channel for Help for Heroes

Monday 13th September is a day to remember for four water babies. Nathan Royle from BDB, Ian Shaw from M-Tec together with Ted MacDougal and Dave McEwan from Bardsley swam the English Channel in relay to raise money for Help for Heroes, a charity which supports injured members of the armed forces.

The boys took to the sea wearing the official attire of speedos and googles. Just enough to cover their modesty and a little more than the official photograph which was deemed a little to risque for the French. (Who would have thought?)

The 21 mile swim from Dover to Cap Gris Nez, Calais took the quartet 13 hours and 57 minutes, arriving in Calais at 15:33pm looking wrinkly and relieved they didn't have to dodge to many ferries.
